WHATS NAMBORU?

NAMBORU Natural reserve AND conservation

Namboru is a 220 acre family protected forest reserve since 1995, a lung in the dry tropics of Costa Rica blue zone of nicoya. The home of great diversity, in the middle of deforested areas. Near to national park Diriá, Namboru is a wildlife corridor and home of one of the most majestic waterfalls from Guanacaste. Previously used as a cattle ranch, the reserve has been under hard reforestation regime, allowing it to look as the magical forest of today.

AGROFORESTY SPECIALTY COFFEE PRODUCTION

We own a specialty coffee production, on an agroforestry system we designed. Our coffee plants are growing under the shade of our oldest reforestation project of more than 40 different species of native trees (many of them endangered species) coffee was planted as a way of proving that reforestation can be productive and healthy for the human nature symbiosis. Now we sell our coffee to fund our newest regeneration and educational projects.

EXPERIMENTAL BEEKEEPING PROjECT

We are housing bees from residential bee-rescues executed by our team, this project intents to develop new ways for beekeeping as natural as posible, on the moment we are designing systems to help mitigate the migration of bees to urban areas both residential or industrial by a network of beehouses setup on specific areas to capture new hive swarms by providing habitat

As education is one of our main pillars of Namboru we dedicated one area of the reserve to investigation and development of new technics in permaculture and regenerative farming through syntropic agriculture an area that works as a demonstration site for already working permaculture systems and principles. And allowing us to create courses and host volunteers and students willing to learn and co-create ecological solutions
